Abstract
Se revisaron ejemplares de Gigartina pectinata Dawson depositados en herbarios y material en solución de formol. Se observó que éstos presentan caracteres reproductivos descritos para el género Chondracunthus Kützing, por lo cual se propone una nueva combinación de Gigartina pectinata Dawson, como Chondracunthus pectinatus (Dawson) L. et R. Aguilar comb. nov.
Specimens of Gigartina pectinata Dawson deposited in herbariums and samples in formalin were reviewed. We observed that they present reproductive traits described for the genus Chondracunthus Kützing and, thereforc, we propose a new combination of Gigartina pectinata, as Chondracanthus pectinatus (Dawson) L. et R. Aguilar comb nov.
