Composición elemental en huesos y branquias de juveniles de Atún Rojo del Atlántico (Thunnus thynnus): ¿puede utilizarse para discriminar lotes?

Resumen

La acuicultura del Atún Rojo del Atlántico (Thunnus thynnus) ha experimentado un rápido desarrollo en los últimos años, lo que ha hecho necesario diferenciar entre ejemplares procedentes de acuicultura (criados en cautividad) y aquellos procedentes de pesquerías (capturados en el medio natural). En este estudio se evaluó un método basado en la composición química de tejidos de descarte (branquias y huesos) en 3 lotes de juveniles de T. thynnus (criados en tanques terrestres, criados en jaulas marinas y capturados en estado silvestre). Se determinaron las concentraciones de 11 macro y microelementos (Ca, Fe, K, Mg, Na, P, S, Cu, Mn, Zn y Sr) y se evaluaron mediante un análisis de varianza (ANDEVA) y 2 pruebas multivariantes: análisis de componentes principales (ACP) y análisis canónico discriminante (ACD). Los mejores resultados se obtuvieron en las branquias y en el lote correspondiente a los ejemplares silvestres. Sin embargo, los resultados no fueron lo suficientemente robustos como para establecer un patrón específico que permitiera identificar el origen de los ejemplares de T. thynnus.
